Writing Coach
Writing matters. It can be the difference maker in your academic, professional, or personal success story.
What do the following people have in common?
- university applicants
- job applicants
- companies
- students
They all make their first impressions through writing, not speaking
-
As a job applicant, prospective employers will first read your resume and cover letter.
If these impress them, you will be invited for an interview.
-
University admissions officers will read your personal statement and want you in their program. Or not.
-
Professors read and grade essays blind.
They assess based on writing, not where you sit in their class.
Working with your own writing samples, we will:
- Review grammar rules as necessary
- Build a broader vocabulary base
- Adapt texts for specific purposes (e.g. university application materials, immigration documents, emails, essays, memos, etc.)
- Apply a variety of writing tools to improve style, pace, impact, persuasiveness, and so on
- Learn to self-edit all written work
- Discuss each writing project to assess its effectiveness in terms of readability, impact, direct messaging, and more.
