WritetoTop was born from the realization that certain fundamental aspects of the English language were simply not being taught in schools.

The focus of language education has shifted heavily to speaking and listening, the practical communication skills, more than reading and writing. It seems many people believe that Google and Microsoft can take care of the grammar and usage issues, and all anyone needs to do is turn on the spellchecker or find a translator online.

But this just ain’t so.

It isn’t so to you, the student who needs to pass an English exam to get into university or college; or you, the new arrival who needs to pass a test for immigration purposes; or you, the native English user who can speak perfectly well, but who can’t write well enough to reach higher than that C+ paper.

At Writetotop we aim to provide you with the tools you need to construct powerful sentences, tight paragraphs, and strong essays that clearly express your ideas to every reader.

We bring many years of teaching and coaching experience to the table, as well as professional writing and editing expertise based on a passion for the English language and a sincere desire to help you achieve all your academic and personal goals.

We are here for you, to show you how to write to the top so that your voice can soar above the page and be heard.

AdamAdam has been writing for as long as he can remember; from poetry in middle school to philosophical essays in his undergraduate days. He has a Master’s Degree in English Literature (Creative Writing track) and is a certified professional editor. Aside from coaching others to write and pass university entrance exams, Adam also works as a contributing teacher at Engvid.com, as well as a freelance editor and copywriter through his site editorproof.com.

Over the years, Adam has also done extensive travelling and teaching, meeting all kinds of people along the way. He has taught, coached, and edited for hundreds of non-native English users for sixteen years while living in four different countries, and travelling through over twenty more.  Adam now specializes in test preparation coaching (IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, CELPIP, TOEIC), with a particular focus on the active skills—the writing and speaking sections. As an editor and writer himself, he has a broad vocabulary, a firm grasp of grammar and syntax, and a “feel” for style.

While he calls Toronto, Canada home, Adam still loves to meet different people from all over the world. He loves reading and writing, cooking, and even more so, eating; he works out at the local gym, and skis on cold winter days. Weekends are spent as quality time with family and friends.
